‍ ‍Flyboy! The High-Flying Life of Jim Kunkle‍ ‍‍

Book cover titled 'Flyboy! The High-Flying Life of Jim Kunkle' illustrated with a vintage airplane and a young boy looking up at it.

Jim fell in love with flying at a young age.  All he wanted to do was soar through the sky.  He held onto that dream and proceeded to join the military then fight in WWII.  Would the dangers of flying and war ground him?  This is a true story of a war hero who was a true flyboy.

From Teaching to Writing

I am a Cuban American writer and educator raised in Los Angeles. My debut picture book biography is “Flyboy!” My stories are about family, perseverance, believing and nature, sprinkled with some humor. As a Child Development Professor, I have worked with teachers and young children for several years. So, I know that children have a great sense of wonder and enjoy laughing. I want my stories to bring a smile to every child and something new to ponder.
